Civil Field Technician

Looking to immediately hire a Civil Field Technician that is eager, energetic, and self-starter. The successful candidate shall provide project support and pavement testing using advanced technical equipment for data collection. Required to complete data quality management/testing and quality assurance while maintaining all technical equipment with some mechanical and computer automated experience. We will provide two weeks of hands-on training as well as four weeks of on-the-job training.

Detailed Work Activities:

  • Conduct non-destructive testing on pavement surfaces at airports and roadways across the US (upon completion of a training program)
  • Conduct visual pavement distress inspections using automated handheld GPS data collection with GIS technology on airfields and military installations (upon completion of a training program)
  • Assist with coordinating and participating in field activities
  • Equipment maintenance
  • Material collection analysis with trailer mounted coring rig equipment on airports and roadways.

CM Field Representative-Technician

RDM Construction Field Representatives (1 to 3 years of experience required in civil roadway / airport construction or QA / QC of materials) will closely collaborate and provide services to RDM Project Team Members such as RDM Project Managers, RDM Project Engineers, Airport Owners and their respective engineer offices, other engineering firms, General Contractors, and Subcontractors on design-bid-build aviation civil engineering projects. RDM Construction Representatives are required to travel to various jobsite locations in the field during construction activities. Training will be provided based on level of understanding.

Job Description and Area of Knowledge: RDM Construction Field Representatives provide comprehensive, management-oriented construction services to international and regional airports stakeholders, military installations, and engineering consultant firms. Individuals are expected to provide the following items:

  • Develop and write-up construction daily reports, DOT reports, FAA reports, and construction observations using a variety of software platforms.
  • Review and provide input on construction and project submittals.
  • Inspect quality of construction work in accordance with conformed documents and specifications.
  • Develop and implement critical path construction schedules on various projects.
  • Estimating material take-off quantities and engineer estimates.
  • Manage, observe, and report on quality acceptance of project materials.
  • Interpret and understand project engineer conformed drawings and specifications.
  • Provide control and monitoring of construction costs and quantities, project budgets, inputting pay applications of materials, project construction safety, and critical path scheduling.
  • Inspection of the placement and the application of construction materials such as hot asphalt mixes, portland concrete cement, subbase course, crushed aggregate base courses, pavement joint construction, steel reinforcement, drainage structures, and electrical fixtures and structures.
  • Providing field work support in gathering engineering data on existing pavement conditions to be utilized during design phases and other aspects of the project.
  • Identify construction methods and proper applications of construction materials, record and markup various work items on plan sets for construction as-builts.
  • Provide and develop construction close-out documentation to project stakeholders.


Construction Representatives: Construction Inspector(CI) & Construction Engineer(CE)

RDM Construction Representatives relative to the Northern Virginia Area with potential travel to various jobsite locations in the field or office during construction activities. Training will be provided based on a level of understanding.

Job Description and Area of Knowledge: RDM Construction Representatives are defined at two separate levels to provide comprehensive, management-oriented construction services to international and regional airports stakeholders, military installations, and engineer consultant firms focusing on the following tasks.

Construction Inspectors (CI) – 2 to 3 years of experience with an understanding of general practices for heavy highway / airfield construction. A construction trade or college education is a plus. Regionally Competitive Salary based on qualifications and experience.

Construction Engineers (CE) – 2 to 5 years of experience in heavy highway / airport or commercial building construction. A college degree pertaining to construction management, construction trades, engineering, or sciences preferred. Regionally Competitive Salary based on qualifications and experience.

General Activities:
